The Smith Woodhouse LBV is bottled without any fining or filtration whatsoever. This wine is then aged in bottle for a minimum of three years (often considerably longer) in the Smith Woodhouse cellars before being offered for sale. This port has an excellent deep ruby colour. The nose is very intense with “clean” berry fruits combined with hints of violets. The palate is rich, with excellent fruit and structure.
