Macon is a large area located in the Southern part of Burgundy, next to Pouilly-Fuisse. The clay and limestone soil of the Jurassic era found in this region is well suited for the Chardonnay grape variety.

Joseph Drouhin always had a passion for wine, and in 1880 in Burgundy, he founded the independent company that still bears his name. Today, his great grandchildren, Philippe, Veronique, Laurent and Frederic, run the family-owned company from their ancestors house.
