1885 The Wagner forefathers emigrate from Alsace and make their way to the San Francisco Bay Area. Following the 1906 earthquake, they acquire farmland in Napa Valley. 1912 Charles F. (Charlie) Wagner is born on the family's Rutherford farm. 1915 The Wagner family builds a winery to produce bulk wines. This enterprise will grow to 30,000 gallons per year before Prohibition. 1941 Charlie Wagner and his wife, Lorna Belle Glos Wagner (whose Glos and Stice ancestors also have a long family history of viticulture and winemakeing in the Napa Valley), purchase 73 acres in Rutherford.
