Deep rose in colour with notes of raspberry, Crenshaw melon and tangerine on the nose. The mouth is really ripe with dry strawberry. The perfect wine with a beautiful steak dinner, grilled tuna, duck, ham, turkey, roasted squash, wild mushrooms and chestnuts.

91 Points-Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate “An authentic rose with the grapes left on the skins to extract the deep rose color. Boasts abundant aromas of framboise, wild strawberries and a hint of pomegranate. Its medium deep rose color is one that is normally associated with some of the Moet-Chandon Dom Perignons, which tend to be a relatively deep rose color. Medium-bodied with loads of flavor and a crisp, dry finish, it should drink well for 3-4 years.”

91 Points-The Wine Spectator “Exotic and bold, yet retains an underlying elegance. Offers delicate strawberry and yeasty almond aromas and mature but lively cherry, red apple and spicy vanilla flavors. Drink now through 2013.”

92 Points-The Wine Enthusiast “A strongly flavored blush, forward and bold in cherries, raspberries, vanilla, smoke and spices, and even suggestions of exotic mulberries. Dark in color, too. Made mostly from Pinot Noir, it can stand in for a red wine with filet mignon. Should develop in the bottle beyond 2011.”

Iron Horse 'Green Valley of Russian River Valley' Brut Rose 2005
81% Pinot Noir & 19% Chardonnay. The Pinot Noir is hand harvested then de-stemmed and put into stainless steel tanks and cold-soaked (using dry ice) for seven days. A bit of steely Chardonnay is then blended in, to add a firm acid backbone. After pressing, the juice slowly ferments in stainless steel tanks at 62° to 65°F retaining bright fresh Pinot Noir fruit tones.
