95 Points-Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar “Deep, brooding aromas of apricot, minerals, menthol and clove, with a suggestion of superripeness and outstanding complexity. Superconcentrated, sweet and powerful, with harmonious ripe acidity buffering the wine's alcohol and extending its finish. This really saturates the palate with flavor.”

95 Points-The Wine Spectator “Solid and compact right now, this is a powerful, concentrated white, showing a chalk flavor under the butter and apricot. Gathers speed across the palate, building to a long finish. Needs time to integrate and realize its full potential. Best from 2011 through 2024.”

97 Points-The Wine Enthusiast “The balance of this wine is what makes it so impressive. Spice and yellow fruit intermingle effortlessly. There is a core of tight, coiled steel, like a spring, which gives minerality along with the richness. At the end, acidity lifts the wine, finishing with freshness as well as intensity.”

Long, gentle pneumatic pressing, debourbage over 24 hours, then racking and running the must into cask. Alcoholic fermentation in oak casks, 25% new (maximum 1/2 Vosges, minimum 1/2 Allier). Aged 12 months in cask, placed in tank for 6 months, then prepared for bottling. Homeopathic fining and very light filtering at bottling, if necessary.

Founded in 1717, Domaine Leflaive has long been considered one of the most highly regarded white wine growers in Burgundy.
