Domaine de la Becassonne is a small estate located near the village of Sorgue in the southern Rhone Valley's Chateauneuf-du-Pape region that is solely dedicated to producing white wine. This is unusual as ninety percent of this vast region’s output is red wine. Planted in 1978, the first bottling of this delicious wine was produced in 1982. With a cool micro-climate and sandy, limestone soils this small property is ideal for producing fresh, expressive whites. Andre Brunel planted Becassonne with the best varietals of the appellation: Roussanne, Clairette Blanc and Grenache Blanc. The vineyards are pruned for low yields (around 40 hectolitres per hectare) and each varietal is harvested separately as they reach optimal ripeness. Fermentation is done in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to retain each varietals bright fruit characteristics. A blend of 55% Roussanne, 30% Grenache Blanc and 15% Clairette, this wine is bottled in early March for freshness and vibrancy. Domaine de la Becassonne is always considered among the region’s finest white Cotes du Rhone.

The Brunel Estate of Les Cailloux at Chemin du Bois de la Ville was established in 1919 and is named after the famous galet roules (large stones) found in the vineyards of Chateauneuf. The Brunel family has lived in the area since the 18th century, although Andre's grandfather was the first in the family to turn his hand to winemaking and the tradition has continued since. Andre joined his father in 1971 and during his career as a Vigneron has turned Les Cailloux into a world-class domaine.

The Estate today covers 80 hectares, with vineyard holdings throughout the southern Rhone valley. The Cotes-du-Rhone Blanc is produced from grapes grown in the Becassonne vineyard, which is located in Sorgues, 6km south of Chateauneuf du Pape. The Vaucluse vineyard is located on the banks of the river Aigues on the famous 'Plan de Dieu' terroir between Orange & Vaison, boasting vines of 30-40 years old. The Sommelongue vineyard is just north of Orange and some 10km north of Châteauneuf du Pape. The famous Les Cailloux vineyard stretches 18 hectares in AOC Chateauneuf-du-Pape.
