Aromas of current, plum, and dried fruits lead into a silky smooth palate with lots of fruit, and a touch of spice and chocolate on the long, seductive finish.

Col Solare Shinning Hill 2007
Col Solare is a partnership between two wine producers who are dominant forces in their respective regions.

When Marchese Piero Antinori journeyed to Washington's Columbia Valley in 1992, he discovered an emerging wine region supported by the ardent leadership of Ted Baseler at Chateau Ste. Michelle.

The two companies united with a shared goal of producing Washington's best Cabernet Sauvignon-based wine.

The partners agreed in 2005 that a winery properly scaled and singularly focused on Col Solare would best realize the wine's extra-ordinary potential. They chose property on Red Mountain to build Col Solare, Italian for "shining hill." On April 12th, 2007, Col Solare celebrated its grand opening.

The refined state-of-the-art winery was constructed from sustainable materials. Behind the dramatic 300 foot stone and concrete wall that emulates the basalt cliffs lining the valley, the winemaking cellar and adjoining "barri cai" enjoy the natural cooling temperature of the earth.
